About Lucy
Nobody lands at Terminal 5 in a good mood, and Lucy takes that as her starting point rather than a problem. She is 163 cm and slender, with long dark brown hair that curls properly rather than politely, and brown eyes that crease when she smiles, which is often. She dresses simply for the airport, a jersey dress and a coat, because anything more in that building looks like a costume.
Mid twenties, English speaking, and very good at the first ten minutes, which is the part that counts when a person has been in the air for nine hours. She asks about the flight, gets the complaining out of the way, and then changes the subject completely. She is good in a queue, good in a delay, and entirely unbothered by a plan that has moved twice already.
The hotel at Terminal 5 is joined to the pier by a walkway over the road, so an arrival can be sitting down with her a quarter of an hour after clearing the hall, which no hotel in town can offer at any price. She knows the quiet end of that lobby and which of the lifts is faster. She lives in Pimlico, and the Piccadilly line takes the better part of an hour each way, so she plans airport nights at three hours minimum with the travel counted, and she will not pretend the journey is shorter than it is.
Late arrivals and long layovers suit her best. The Heathrow page covers the terminals properly, and a message to booking with your landing time is all she needs to work from.

Booking Lucy
Send the landing time and the hotel, and she will build the evening backwards from it. Three hours at £700 is the minimum at the airport with travel counted, and an overnight at £1,800 makes far more sense after a long haul.
Every figure she works to is printed on the fare board, and the four steps from message to doorbell sit on the booking page.

An evening with Lucy
Ten at night, the far end of the Terminal 5 lobby, and somebody who has clearly not spent the day in an aluminium tube. She orders first, which saves you a decision, and she lets you talk about the flight for exactly as long as you need to before she moves the conversation somewhere better.
Dinner is late and light, or skipped entirely in favour of a drink and a proper sit down. She is aware that your body thinks it is four in the morning. The evening is paced for that: slow, warm, no expectation that you are going to be sparkling company. If you fall asleep mid sentence she will find it funny rather than insulting, and she will say so at breakfast.
Lucy, on the record
Q.01I land at midnight. Is that too late?
No. Midnight arrivals are half of what I do. Tell me the flight number rather than the scheduled time, because the two are often strangers to one another.
Q.02Terminal 5 or the Bath Road?
Terminal 5, every time, if you are flying from there. The walkway means no taxi, no weather and no queue. The Bath Road hotels are lovely and they all involve a car.
Q.03What if my flight is delayed?
Then you message me and we move it. Nobody is in control of an aeroplane and I have never once held that against a guest.
