The Panel: twenty eight companions, sorted twelve ways

The Panel is the same twenty eight women as On The Route, cut into twelve short lists. Four of the lists are about hair, five about frame and height, and three about age. Nothing else is sorted here, and none of the twelve moves a single figure on the ladder.

The lists overlap on purpose. A woman can stand in four of them at once and several do. Read two or three of them and watch which names keep reappearing, because that is usually your answer arrived at without you having had to decide anything.

Hair, in four lists

Blondes holds four names and brunettes fifteen, which makes it the longest list on the panel by a distance. Six stand under raven haired and three under auburn and red, the rarest colouring here and the one guests ask for by name more often than any other. Colour is written down as it looks in daylight on a pavement, not as a photograph left it.

Frame, in five lists

Petite has seven, toned and athletic five, slim and slender ten, curvaceous ten and statuesque nine, counted from 172 cm upwards. Height is the only measurement printed anywhere on these pages and it was taken rather than guessed at. The rest is description in ordinary words, and nobody is ranked against anybody.

Early twenties, late twenties, thirties and beyond. Everybody in this book is an adult, every age was checked from a document in person before a profile went up, and the bands exist because guests ask about stage of life and manner rather than about a number.

What the panel does not do

It does not rank anybody and it does not price anybody. An hour is £250 whichever list you arrived from and the same seven rungs apply to every name on every page. If a list feels too long to be useful, describe the evening instead and Iris will do the sorting, which is quicker than scrolling at eleven at night. The booking page has the four things she needs.
