Auburn and red: the three rarest names in the book
Three out of twenty eight, which makes this the shortest list on the panel and the one most often asked for by name. Auburn is the colouring guests write in about specifically, usually having already decided, and the roster rarely carries more than a handful of it at a time.
The three are not interchangeable in the slightest. One is petite and waves, one is tall and deep red, one is a slim auburn brown that only declares itself in daylight.
Auburn and red, on the route
Auburn waves, by the water
Lea is 161 cm and petite, hazel eyed, with long auburn hair that waves whatever she does to it and changes with the light coming off the river. She is the one who knows the odd old buildings of Twickenham: an octagon room built in 1720, sitting in woodland by the water, free to walk into and almost empty most afternoons.
She teases early, which is how she tests a room, and she is generous once she has decided about you. Weekdays are far easier than weekends here and she will not take an international match day at all.
Dark auburn red, behind the Bath Road
Luna is 171 cm and curvy, brown eyed, with long dark auburn red hair that is the first thing anybody describes about her. She wears deep colours, rarely black, and one ring that does not come off.
Her ground is Cranford, which is a village an airport grew around: a medieval church and a ruined stable block among the trees, four minutes by car from the big hotels. She works out here by car rather than by train, so a late start is quick and an early one is not.
Auburn brown, on the canal side
Patricia is 172 cm and slim, brown eyed, and her auburn is the quietest of the three, brown indoors and unmistakable on a bright afternoon. She takes an evening screening on the Brentford high street and dinner at the Lock afterwards, which is a well built night out that almost nobody outside TW8 knows exists.
Half an hour out of Waterloo, calm across a table of strangers, and a good deal funnier than her first ten minutes suggest.
Three shades, recorded honestly
Luna's is the deepest and the most red. Lea's is the lightest and the only one with real movement in it. Patricia's is the most brown and the one that surprises people in daylight. None of the three is brightened, deepened or shifted in a photograph, and when a colour changes the pictures are taken again.
If auburn turns out to be the wrong word for what you had in mind, the lighter end of brunettes is the next place to look.
Asking for one of the three
With a list this short, availability decides more than preference does. Ask early, name the woman, and give two possible dates rather than one, which is what Lea asks for anyway and what Iris will suggest to anybody booking from this page.
The figures are the same as everywhere else in the book: £250 for an hour, £500 for two, £900 for a four hour dinner, £1,800 for a whole night. Every name is on On The Route and the rates page has the rest of the ladder.
The last one
never leaves
Whatever the hour, the route is still running and somebody is still answering. Name your stop and we will say who is free and how far off she is.
