About Tiffany
Strawberry Hill is a white gothic fantasy at the quiet end of Twickenham, and Tiffany has never once got bored of it. She is 169 cm with a petite frame, long chocolate brown hair and brown eyes, and she notices detail in a room the way other people notice noise. Her clothes are precise: a neat dress, a good seam, one small pair of earrings that took her the better part of a year to find and that she now wears with everything.
Mid twenties, English speaking, particular about absolutely everything in the nicest possible way. She straightens things. She will also tell you, kindly and without being asked, that the shirt is wrong, and she will be right, and you will change it before the next time. She writes proper letters, on paper, to about four people, and considers four a reasonable number of people to keep up with.
Strawberry Hill House is Horace Walpole's little castle on Waldegrave Road, all battlements and stained glass and rooms coloured like a jewellery box, five minutes from Strawberry Hill station and open to anybody who buys a ticket. She likes a late afternoon there and then the walk back into town along the river for dinner on Church Street. She lives in Soho, and it is Waterloo to Strawberry Hill in about forty minutes, which she counts as part of the outing rather than as a chore.

Four o'clock at the gate on Waldegrave Road, a house painted white as a wedding cake, and an hour inside rooms that a man built in the 1750s because he wanted to live inside a novel. The gallery ceiling is worth the ticket on its own and she will make sure you look up at it.
Then the walk back towards the town along the river, about twenty five minutes, past Radnor Gardens and the ferry steps. Dinner on Church Street, where she will notice the cutlery and say nothing about it. She is exacting and completely without unkindness, which is an unusual pairing, and an evening with her feels carefully arranged even when nothing was arranged at all. The light in those rooms is the best part of the whole thing and she knows which hour to be there.

It is the reason gothic revival happened, built by a man who wanted a castle and had no intention of defending it. Every room is a different colour and the whole thing is far smaller than you expect. Yes, it is worth an hour.

A few days, ideally, so the afternoon can be planned around the house opening. It does not open every day, which catches people out.
