About Violetta
Set back from the traffic on the Great West Road there is a hotel with a garden behind it, and Violetta will be in the quiet corner of that garden. She is the tallest woman on this list at 178 cm, tall and slender, with long black hair worn sleek and straight and brown eyes that take their time over a room. Early thirties, she dresses with a restraint that makes everything else in the place look busy by comparison.
English speaking, reserved on arrival and entirely warm within the hour, a sequence she stopped apologising for some years ago. She reads the last page of a novel first and has never been talked out of it. She holds strong opinions about tea and no interest whatsoever in defending them to anybody. She is decisive about small matters and slow about large ones, and she gave up trying to reverse that some time ago.
The Tudor style hotel on the Great West Road, on the Isleworth side, has a garden at the back that most guests never find, and it is the one place along that stretch where a conversation can actually be heard. She likes to start there, then five minutes by car down into the village for dinner near the water. She lives in Belgravia, so it is forty minutes by road in the evening, and she books long rather than short because of exactly that.
Overnights and long dinners rather than quick hours. The Isleworth page has the rest, and booking is where to send a date.

Booking Violetta
Four hours at £900 is the shortest she recommends here, and an overnight at £1,800 is the one she would rather have. She will want an hour of nothing much at the start of it.
Every figure she works to is printed on the fare board, and the four steps from message to doorbell sit on the booking page.

An evening with Violetta
Seven o'clock in the garden behind the hotel, where the road is fifty yards away and might as well be in another county. She arrives without hurry, orders something she has ordered a hundred times before and asks one question that takes twenty minutes to answer properly.
Dinner is in the village, five minutes down towards the river, somewhere small with tables that are not on top of one another. By the second hour she has warmed up completely and the reserve she arrived with is nowhere to be found. She is excellent on a long evening and frankly wasted on a short one, and she will say so herself if you ask her which to book. She stays until the booking ends and not one minute less than that.
Violetta, on the record
Q.01You are described as reserved. Will I do all the work?
For about an hour, and then not at all. I do not warm to a room instantly and I have stopped pretending otherwise. Book me for four hours and you will meet two different people.
Q.02Why here and not central London?
Because out here a restaurant will give you a corner table and leave you alone in it. In town you are paying twice as much to be overheard.
Q.03The last page first, really?
Always. I want to know where a thing is going before I decide to spend a week on it. People find it appalling and I find it sensible.
